Great Britain Seahorse 1915 S.G. N64 (2) 2s 6d Chrome (very pale sepia-brown, worn plate) u/mint.
A really scarce and desirable shade in unmounted ,mint condition. De La Rue printing.
This stamp is identical in shade, plate wear and gum colour to my 2012 RPS Certified reference copy.
In my opinion both stamps would probably have been printed on the same day, perhaps within minutes of each other..
The RPS Certificate, Cert. No. 213981, states- 2s 6d Chrome (very pale sepia-brown) – De La Rue printing –
Unused – is Genuine. Observation: Worn plate.
The stamp is catalogued in Stanley Gibbons specialised at £7500.00 as unmounted mint.
A lovely stamp and a rare shade.
