Proof D has a dark background and is in the large size measuring approx. 10 cm by 13 cm.

Only two sets of four proofs numbered Proofs A to D, plus two singles and another in a slightly different design (Proof E) were released

in 1997 from Harrison and Sons Ltd.’s archives when De La Rue and Co. purchased Harrison and Sons Ltd.

All four proofs are slightly different with differing backgrounds and contast.

It is thought that any remaining proofs were destroyed.

The proof has been expertised on the back in pencil as Photographic Proof D.

Only two sets of four proofs are thought to exist.
